Push me: What’s it all about?

screen grab of the still for the introduction film - underwater scene with orange fish. Text read Introducing Push MeMaybe you know all about Push Me and are an avid follower of us on The Space, Twitter , Facebook and here on our own blog at pushmeplease – but maybe you’re not and want to know more about what Push Me is and what its aiming to do.

Well, a new short film (and at 90 seconds, when we say short we mean short) just for show on the site here explains a little more.

You can go straight to the film here and you can see the film with subtitles or audio description if you’d prefer – and see Jo Verrent and Sarah Pickthall talk about the artists and the intension.

Our main aim is to push, unsurprisingly – we want to push the work of these artists into spaces and place that its not been before – reaching people that this work rarely gets to.

We were able to present about the project the other week at the Pervasive Media Studio at Watershed as one of their lunchtime talks. We’ve some other talks and presentations lined up too – more on these as they take place.

We’d love people to tweet, post, share and generally get the films out there to the widest audience possible. That’s why we need your help now.

Who can you help us push out to? And what else do you think we can do to push the work out there still further?

Let us know – here, or through any of the channels above. Or you could even email the curators direct if you like (I’m on joverrent@mac.com if you want to reach me).

Come on, just give us a little push…
